Choices are good

Marvel's announcement of a second Avengers title, The Mighty Avengers, to complement The New Avengers is a welcome one to me. I've been enjoying the interplay between guys like Spider-Man, Iron Man, and Wolverine, but the dark conspiracy angle is making me tired and I feel like I'm just biding time until something happens. Especially now as Civil War continues to unfold at a snail's pace and slows down the rest of Marvel with it. Or maybe it's just that I'm really into Civil War (I am) and anxious to see where it's going.

Either way, New Avengers hasn't been fun for a while, so I'm happy to have an alternative in a comic that promises world-threatening scenarios and where, according to Brian Bendis, "fun is the word of the day." Putting Frank Cho on the art also helps.

And if Mighty Avengers serves its purpose well enough, I'll probably keep reading New Avengers too for the stuff I like about it. Cake and eating it too, you know.
